I have an XJ550 and she spins up and starts no problem at all... usually. I have found that the trick is to use no throttle or choke (even when it's cold) and once she fires open the throttle quick, and then dial in a bit of choke with the thumb lever until she warms up a little.

However, if she doesn't start on the first attempt, she won't start no matter how much you crank the motor. Leave her alone for 30 minutes and you can try again. It's almost like resetting the process. As she'll fire up fine, but if you don't catch her again on that first attempt it'll be another long wait.

This is not good at the fuel pumps 8O

Any ideas where I should start looking guys?
    Cheers....
