welding a frame

    i have a 125amp flux core welder, can i use this to do frame mods? what size tube should i use?i know how to weld and what not but im just not sure if this would work for a motorcycle frame or not

    do you really think that you can? Miller and lincoln both advise that you use 140-155 amps to 1/8" with sheilded and unsheilded wire. NOw you could go down in frame thickness but not readily advised. You could do a beveled double or triple pass but are you really getting the penetration you need? You need to remember that this is a frame you will be putting on the road. Do you want to fail on 147 or 220?
    i also spoke with the welding professors and they said they would not chance it.
