every couple days now it would just click the relay would always have to play with the connection on the starter motor and its tight so today i tried cleaning the connections and tightened it back up it would still click then it wouldn't even click the solenoid so i swapped it click click.. so i ended up putting a maxim x starter motor on that i had laying around starts up now but hmm..guess i can deal with the starter but why the relay?

The relay is supposed to click. No clicky = no worky.

Swapping realys didn't solve the problem because the starer was inoperable.

When you swapped starters you dignosed the problem. The original starter isn't working.

Open it up and see what it needs. They are rebuildable, and parts are readily available.

why the relay? because your old starter was drawing too much current and cooked it

yes i agree with that because when i took it out it was pretty warm (the relay). when the first relay stopped clicking i tried hooking up the maxim x starter and nothing then i swapped relay.. broom broom but the original starter never worked again even with the new relay. so i will be taking the starter apart.
