Well, I'm officially the first type of rider now...

You know, as in the saying that begins "There are two types of motorcycle riders..."

    Yep, I went down.

Going around a curve on a local back road, didn't see the patch of gravel until too late. I was already leaned over, the back wheel went out, and that was the end of it.

I'm more frustrated than hurt; just a little bit of rash, and a bit sore. Bike should be put right pretty easily; I need a turn signal, headlight bucket, instrument cluster, and clutch lever, and the crash bar can probably be straightened out (glad I had it, because the actual case has no damage).

I've only put on a grand total of 783.6 miles since I got it running. :(

Pics tomorrow when it's light out.

Bummer deal. But you know the saying, if you live to talk about it then you got lucky. Glad to hear you're alright.

Sorry to hear of your plight, I'm relieved to hear you are ok (for the most part). I don't have any good parts to offer you but am curious to know what kind of damage your instrument cluster and headlight bucket went through. Anything salvageable or parts that would fix other assemblies?

Poor Guy. Banged up but walkin. Its a GOOD day, when that happens and u can walk away, pride tucked, angry at oneself, this happens here in Florida ALL the time due to shiftin sands so i never (almost never) go hard into a turn knowing that sand may be present causing this exact thing to happen. as it is been lucky and never completely lost it in slide, but ohhhhhhh the close calls.
Guess we all got needs from borken or damaged goods to make a whole one outta couple o borken ones, if possible.
