With the riding season winding down in the northern parts of the northern hemisphere remember:

Wet leaves on the road are slippery. Any leaf on the road is wet because the dry ones blow off.

    Ride safe.

Yes you have to watch out for wet leaves, along with the knuckleheads that cut their grass and blow the clippings onto the road. Ride safe.

The riding season here in NC goes on all year long. With the weather turning cooler I can add one more to the list, watch out for deer. Those things seem to jump in front of you from nowhere.

Around this area you have to watch out for wall nut trees. They are like large ball bearings. If the nuts don't get you the squirrels collecting them will.

Encountered both the deer and walnuts on 250 mile trip over the weekend. Came up on a squirrel while I was going 15 MPH around a curve and every way I motioned, he wanted to go, but he finally got out of the way.

Hairy ride on my first ever extended trip. :?

A friend of mine met a deer riding his bike. After he rebuilt it, he put on a sign as to where it got damaged. " The buck stops here. " :D
