Well, when I was 9, my dad gave me a Swiss Army Knife. It took all of 5 minutes for me to a nice deep gash in my thumb. "Now it's really yours" he told me.

Well, I guess my Seca is truly my own bike.

I goofing around and got a little hot on the throttle and hit some gravel while accelerating after shifting into second. The bike spun right around threw me off.

I've got scuffs and bruises all over my right arm, knee and hip.

Bike is OK. Handle bar is a little bent, and I snapped 1/3rd of my brake lever off.

    My heart is still racing.

So yeah, here's the fun part. I start riding from Pennsylvania to California tomorrow (for those interested, I'll update the thread on that) but yeah, looks like I'll be spending the first leg of my trip looking for a new bar and brake lever.

    Fun stuff, huh?

Oh well, this could have been much worse. Thank god I (and my bike) are alright.

    How's everybody else's night going?

The scuffs sound painfull :( . Good thing you (and the bike :p ) are allright though! You weren't wearing a motorcycle jacket and trousers? Or are you scuffed inside the clothing?

Glad you aren't hurt. When I was 15, I had a'74 honda cl360 dressed as a cb. The battery was bad. It would stutter and then all the sudden run fine. I had a guy on back and warned him that it might jump off on us or even pop a wheelie with his weight on the back. I told him to be absoltutely still and not flail around if it happened. It happend, wheelied, and he flails around waving his legs and arms all about. I can't keep the bike up, because of his flailing and down we go. I still have the scars from that 23 years later. Needless to say, he never rode on my bike again!!!

Totally sucks - glad you are ok to ride tomorrow! I did notice, however, you addressed it at your "first" wreck. Let's hope it's your only!
