I came home from a two week vacation and as my life would have it, I could not find my keys to my 83 seca 900. They weren't in the safe as they should have been and I couldn't remember where else I would have or could have put them. So... after searching all over my house I did a lost key search here and found more than enough information to remove the ignition switch and the knowledge that most locksmiths could cut a new key from the code on the back of the switch. I took it in today and within 15 minutes I was out with 2 new keys on my way home so I could ride once more. The cost for both keys were less than $25. I still have to take the bike to them to get a new key for the gas tank as it is different but they're not open this weekend and I still have about a half tank of gas so I figure I'm good for around a hundred mile ride yet. My thanks to this group for being a great support to those of us that are mostly lurkers.

    Hey ! Nice bike !

I once had to hand-load a gallon of gas in my old 900- - i was a long way from home without the tank key. It involved removing the tank and pulling the fuel valve, and pouring the gas thru a small funnel.
