I am looking into a new handlbar for my '82 Seca 750.
While most sellers give very specific dimensions about their handbars, such as rise and pullback, I do not know what I have now as a base point to go from.
I try to "eyeball" the measurements but probably not very accurate.
Does anyone know the exact rise and pullback dimensions of the stock handhar for this bike?
    Thanks.

I didn't take measurements, but check out the pictures on pages 3 and 4 of my thread. It shows the difference b/w the stock bar and the GP Touring bar. I can't say enough about how much improvement it gives over the riding position and handling.

Thank you for your sugestiong, Durk. I have read somewhere else positive about the GP Touring bar also. I think the stock riding position is a little too "upright" to be comfortable. My only reservation is that I have the factory full fairing and this bar may not let me do the full turn parking lock. I will search for more photos to confirm. Thanks.

    That's great! Some photos please.
I am in the process of putting a voltmeter and a oil temp gauge next to each side of the pocket areas (and remove the cig. lighter). Very tight...can only use 1-1/2" diameter gauges.

dang Vince, I read your sig and I just find it so neat that in the restoration process you ARE the previous owner.
At work I always try to leave things a certain way so that if "the other guy" overlooks something he is less likely to make a costly mistake, often by tomorrow morning I AM that other guy.
What's it like revisiting your own bike after all these years and may I ask why the break? (kids is my guess :D )

Hi Militant_Buddhist: How did you guess it?

I bought my Seca brand new in 1982, the same year that I got married. By 1986 I have 2 kids and the wife said no more risking my life for the sakes of the children. So the bike was put in the garden shed.......there she sat for 25 years......

Earlier this year my son brought home a sick Ninja 600. I worked on it for a few weekends and got it up and running. I took it for a short ride; first time in 25 years. Oh my lord......it was almost as good as having s*x.....all the great feeling about riding came back!

I took my Seca out from the shed; what a sad sight. Anything in chrome is rusted...the gas tank has brown soup that stunk like garbage....the carb has green (yes, green) goop inside....brakes seized!

I recoated the tank with POR-15....rebuilt the float and petcork....rebuilt the master cylinder and calipers....replaced fork, engine, shaft drive oil. It took me 3 tries to comletely dissemble the carb for cleaning before it starts, idles, and runs like it should. Now I test-ride it around the blocks (no insurance yet) every weekend to satisfy my "urges".

The right muffler has a few large rusted-thru holes so I took it off and plugged the outlet. Thanks to the crossbox, I now have my home-made 4-into-1 exhaust: all exhaust comes out from the left muffler!

The most annoying thing is: I have to bump the rear spring up one notch because I am 30 lbs heavier than I was in 1986......LOL

I ended up not getting the fairing but it's in the process of being mailed to me. I'll let you know if the bars clear once I get it.

Hi DurK: I look forward to your confirmation at this. I would love to use the GP Touring bar if it fits.
Looking at my bike for clearance, I can imagine that I would want a 2" LESS pullback and also 2" LESS rise. However, I JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT I HAVE NOW!

Hi Durk: Just checking to see if you have installed the full fairing with the GP Touring bar on. How does it fit? Any interferences?
