My friend just bought a 1982 XJ750 and it appears to run great. He's happy about the purchase especially the price he paid :) But we think that it is starving for gas... what do all the letters mean that are on the petcock switch? He don't have internet access so I have to post for him. He said that there is one label that says TRE and I think there is an On and Off switch... Maybe more, I'm not really sure... His bike is an inline 4

If his looks like this, straight down is the on position.
Reserve is straight up I believe and Prime is middle position.

on reserve and prime never leave it on prime if your floats or needles and seats arent the best your asking for trouble. and cut the zip tie on the filter flush or you will get a nasty cut when reaching for the petcock
