    Hi guys :)

Took the carbs off my Maxim X as she's not starting after sitting in the garage for two weeks as I had an operation. Wanted to check fuel was getting through. When I took them off, there were the two black hose connectors, one between each pair of carbs as pointed to in the pics below.
The question is ... what should connect to them please? Are they breathers? If so where do breather pipes go to & how long a lengths of pipe do I need to get to go on them?
Also wondering why she won't start as she was running fine when i parked her up? :(
Am going to clean the enrichment circuit while I have them off just for good measure!
    Any assistance much appreciated!!!

    Cheers ... Rick 8)

Those are for overflow lines, they drain fuel back under the airbox and out in case the float bowls overflow.

    Cheers SQLGuy :)

So they should have pipes on them that drain down the same place as the battery breather right?

Cheers fella, made some pipes up Just got to fit the carbs up after the clean out ... and the enrichment circuits were running fine. In fact it looked like the carbs had been cleaned not all that long ago as they were spotless near as damn it inside!

Just got to bolt them back up and see if there was a problem or if the non starting is being caused by something else ....

One thing I did while I had mine off last time was to swap the bowl screws for stainless Allen screws. That makes it a lot easier to remove a bowl with the rack in place, if needs be.

Cheers for all the advise & tips guys ;)

Been away at a bike rally over the weekend, so will start re looking at it this week after work!

I think I've browsed the float setting up thread recently so I'll hunt that one out & check the float levels :)

I'm sure you'll know if I get it fixed or not .... as if I don't, I'll be back on here asking for help to sort it!!!

    Thanks again .... Rick 8)
