What is the Click of Death?

    ...and more importantly, how do I know if my bike has it?

    When my bike is warm and idling, I hear an intermittent tick-tick-tick-nothing-tick-tick that comes from the right side, somewhere in the vicinity of the transmission cover or that YICS engine cover. It sounds like it happens at about the same place in every revolution, and I can only hear it at idle.

    Could it simply be the cam chain (and if so, what's the proper way to tighten it)?

    Make sure you check out everything that might make that kind of noise. I thought I had an issue with my cam chain tensioner (which is self adjusting) and it ended up being the restricter plate at the tip of my muffler need to be tack welded back in. Sometimes the simplest things are the answer.

    The bike does need a valve job, but that doesn't really answer either of my questions...
