The 5K (5,000 Ohm) is recommended with a copper core spark plug wire. Do not use them with the carbon core wires.

That is what I thought. I have the original coils and three of the caps seem to be sealed to the wire. The 4th cap is different and is a push on type.

Do I just cut the wires where they enter the old caps or is there another way to disconnect them from the caps.

They should unscrew. What necessitates their replacement? Cracked, corrosion?

At least one of them leaks. after a rain last week the bike didnot want to start. it always starts!

There is also the fact that I have 3 original and 1 different caps .

Do they unscrew inside then pull the wire out?

If they are the original NGK caps, they should unscrew like a screw from the end of the cap, kinda like a tube of toothpaste.

I had put NGK caps on mine, and had a crack in the "plastic" of the cap causing spark to jump, just for kicks and to see how they looked went with caps found at JC whitney that show everytime spark hits, have had great success with them, and you can see how strong or weak the spark is. plus looks cool especially at night LOL
