hi , i need some help here please,my bike is a 1981 xj 650 special. the model #4 KI 001982. i have worked out from another thread that it has the oceania model id code which is natural seen im in australia, although it only has a single disk on the front .now in my workshop manual(haynes) it has all the other models from other countries, the 4ko,h,lh. It doesnt mention my model at all.so what do i use as the model number for working on my bike ? Surely i dont need another manuel for mine,Sorry for my typing style if its hard to read, just this was a struggle, thank you in advance, kind regards ken.

The reference material I have here makes reference to a 4K1 as opposed to 4KI, and also refers to it as "Euro Style".

At first glance, the two parts lists look similar (between the 4K0 and the 4K1), but it's hard to say without a detailed comparison. If they are in fact similar, then I'd say stick with the Haynes for now until/unless you run across something it doesn't cover, then yell for help; someone on here is bound to have one and can shed some more light.

You looking to accomplish anything in particular at the moment?
