My cam blocks under close inspection seem to have a variety of surface charachteristics on each bearing surface. Areas of mirror like polish, areas of satin smooth finish and areas of light scoring. How much evidence of wear is normal and how much merits replacement. Can both top and bottom blocks be replaced? I was staring at the head just yesterday but god help me I can't remember whether the bottom blocks would come out of the head or whether their intregal.

What you see is what you get . Only recourse is line boring and the subsequent use of inserts.
Frankly ...worth more than the Bike is.
