I know that a 19 inch seca wheel bolts up real easy to my 750 maxim, but what about the 18 inch wheel from an xs850 triple, its a 5 speed shaft as well?????

Lower 48 in general. Otherwise Central Mitten.
The 750 seca wheel is an 18" and will directly swap for the maxim wheel.
For the XS wheel you will need to cross check the drive flange, brake plate, and axle shaft to confirm.

There is at least one 750 seca being parted out in the sale section.

I was looking to do the swap, do you know for sure it won't bottom out over a hard bump? Doesn't look like very much clearance under the fender. I hear people have done it, so I guess it works, but just looking at it I can hardly believe it.

Could it be that it "fits" and you can drive it down the road, but they've never fully bottomed out the shocks with a 19? I plan on jumping mine. If I push down, I do not have 3" left.

you'r going to jump a maxim. bet you end up bottoming it even with the stock wheel. you are going to want to look at some major suspension/frame upgrades and then just go buy a dirt bike/off raod focused enduro to jump instead.

Evel Knievel jumped on a XR750 Harley Davidson with 1.5 inches of travel. This bike is a lot better then what he jumped on.

Not ready to do the jump yet, it's far off. I'm not wanting to change the wheel for the jump, want to get a little lower RPM on the highway. A friend and I looked at it and it hardly seems like there is 3" more to get. Just wondering.

xr-750 is a 300 lb dirt track racing bike and Knievel's was modified for jumping which I am sure included the frame and suspension. the 750 maxim is a 500 lb sport touring bike. big difference.
That said if you have a proper stunt jump set up and land correctly there is "relatively" little force applied to the shocks because of the angle of the landing area.
but I still wouldn't jump an xj without heavy frame and suspension modification

Sorry, if you look at pictures, his Caesars Palace Bike had honorable, small shocks.
An XJ has better shocks then even his later, 13 Buses in London jump bike.

small doesn't necessarily mean bad, the correct valving and spring rate matters a lot more than size. ie my hd progressive 412 shocks are the same physical size as standard rate progressive 412 shocks.

but do as you please I won't continue to argue the point especially here mucking up mikes thread with info that doesn't pertain to his question.

Good idea, I didn't want to take over. I saw wheel swap and since his question was answered, and had 'wheel swap' peoples attention, didn't want to add another 'wheel swap' thread.
I was just stating facts. Hard to believe you would "argue" that this suspension is better then what I have.
