    Hi Folks,

Just seeking an opinion or two. We've had very warm weather here in downtown Melbourne lately and I've noticed on the warmer days/evenings that when the engine warms up there seems to be a wheezing sound coming from the engine when I blip the throttle - it is prevalent at low revs only, like around or under 2000rpm, and then goes away at higher revs.

I've had a suspicion for the last couple of months that one or two of the intake manifold gaskets may have deteriorated and broken away causing a minor air leak. The usual symptoms of a racing engine at idle are not present. The warmer air temperature is the only thing I can put it down to as on cooler mornings I can't hear that wheezing sound.

Any opinions/experiences? Or am I hallucinating??!!

Trace down intake leaks with your choice: WD-40, carb cleaner, starting fluid, an UNLIT propane torch, water hose. Use the carb cleaner or water sparingly. If the idle changes, you found it. The 8 throttle shaft seals may leak a little anyway.
