I need advice on the positioning of 6 hoses on the carbs of my XJ700.
There are 4 short hoses that attach near the starter circuit on the front of the carb abd 2 longer hoses that attach to a tube between the outside carbs on both sides.

    Where do they go?

    Are the longer ones drains?

I cannot find any obvious attachment points.

I know I should have noted them when they wereon but OOPS!

Are The shorter hoses supposed to go to the float bowl drain plugs?

I'm not familar with the 700, but from looking at the parts diagrams.
The 4 shorter hoses should be your drain hoses.
The 2 longer hoses should go to the petcock.

No I already have the petcock hoses connected one goes to the vacume port on cylinder #2 the other feeds between cyl# 2 and 3. The longer hoses run behind the tranny and there are 2 hose brackets there so I think they are drains. The 4 shorter ones are just the right size to connect to the drains on the float bowls but they were not connected there originally and I cannot think of any reason that they would connect to a shut drain?
