Where does the small hose from the XJ750 airbox go?

There are two hoses that connect to the airbox of my 1982 SECA 750. The larger one goes to the PCV port on the oil separator (left side of the crankcase). I thought the smaller one went to the top of the crankcase somewhere, but I can't find where it should hook up.

    Thanks for the help,
    Paul

on my 81 seca there's a hose that goes to the airbox from the venting port on the battery. Not sure on the 82s but seems likely.

Actually the hose goes down beside the battery vent hose. Both are drain hoses. The battery hose drains excess fluid if the battery was over filled and vent battery gases. So therefore the battery hose should not connect to the air box drain since pulling caustic gases into the engine is not desirable. The air box drain drains excess fuel and condensation.

The Battery Vent Hose shouldn't go to the airbox.
It should vent to atmosphere routed down toward the center stand mid-way under the airbox.

    Ahh, makes sense...

    Thanks for the help.

I had made two connections to the front of my new air box, but, since the new setup is quite different from the old one, I don't need the drain connection anymore. I'll just leave it plugged. (You can see the PCV connection with the red hose.)

    Thanks,
    Paul

You can get an aftermarket filter that fits right on the case.

I've been struggling with air hoses since the season began. Got two on two to go. Is there a trick to sliding the boots on another 1/4 inch? Guess I lack the brute strength to force it that lil bit. Waiting for two more hands, specially since after leaving my gas on all winter, (I know, I know...But I broke my shoulder October so nothing much happened for awhile) I did pull & clean the carbs in March Just can't muster those last two boots. any tricks you guys are keeping secret? I want to a least start it again, so if those last two boots are only on long enuf to get it to a shop, I am gonna drive it there.
