Where to side mount license plate?

    Due to all the cutting and hacking on my bike im pretty much forced to mount my plate on the side of the bike. Due to state laws it must also be horizontal and lighted. lighting is easy but i can really figure out a good area to mount it. Id love to mount it to the axle but im worried over time it may slip down. The shock lower mount is a possibility too. Anyone have any insight or suggestions?

    I have mine mounted by the lower shock mount. Use a good washer or two if you need it.
