my cluster has the dummy lights under the gauges and I'm looking for a replacement. There are 3 different 82 650 clusters for sale in the 'sale forum' and they all have the lights between the gauges. Is mine the correct cluster?

Sounds like it is. You're probably seeing Max clusters.

do you think it'll bolt and connect up without problems? there are currently some nice ones available. and I just realized that as long as the mileage is lower than my bike, I could just connect a drill to the speedo and bring the odometer to match mine :)

Riigght. Do you have any idea how long that would take, even if your drill spins it at 120mph?

And, be careful-- Remember that the Maxims went to electonic tachs with the YICS motor, whereas your Seca has a mechanical tach.

You need to be sure it's from an 80/81.

This is the stock cluster for the 650R/650UK

Of course, this one is missing the tach glass because some bald-headed moron, that looks kinda like the owner, decided to crack the glass when he opened the can up to fix it.
