    2 or 3.
sticks are just as accurate, and easier to read, IMHO.

I would say 3, stay away from the Taiwan made gauges, notoriously inaccurate. You also want a good sealed chamber for the mercury. I bought a set of lesser expensive sticks and the chamber for the mercury was a joke, after one sync session, the rubber cap on the chamber dislodged, causing all the mercury to spill. Had a hell of a time cleaning it up. cruzerjd

I'd go with the Morgan ...

Mercury is a Heavy Metal and poses a very dangerous hazard.

If the engine runs-away and the revs get high enough before you kill it ... the Mercury gets sucked-in to the Intake where is becomes Mercury Vapor INSTANTLY.

Exposure to Mercury Vapor causes Cancer.

Exposure to Stainless Steel tumblers is safe.

Hey don't forget that I also carry the Morgan Carbtune Pro 4-column synch sticks, and with my current Holiday Sale, you'll get free shipping.......and of course won't be paying any sales tax, either. I also offer the storage pouch (which I highly recommend you purchase also) for just $19.00.

Also, you might want to note that the Carbtune II sticks that casporttouring.com is offering are a much older (now discontinued from Morgan) version of their synch sticks....... The version that I offer (Carbtune Pro) is the most recent version of their product.

I also carry (but have not used myself) the new Motion-Pro SynchPro liquid-filled carb sticks which are a bit less expensive than the Morgan sticks ($ 89.00 from me) but some of the reviews on the other XJ sites raise significant questions about the accuracy and ease of use of these new MP sticks.

BTW, these Motion-Pro Synchpro sticks (which is what is listed on the Dennis Kirk website) are NOT mercury-filled, they use a "proprietary" motion-pro non-toxic fluid......

Conclusion: For the small difference in price, I would use the Morgan sticks.

I went with the Morgan Carbtune Pro 4-column.
After syncing quite a few carbs, I 'm glad I did.
Get the pouch, keeps everything together nicely.
Also picked up set of Colortune plugs 14mm and 12mm.

Both have been a great addition to the garage. The XJ I had was probably the easiest to sync and setup, then the XS, XV and the GS.
