Which speedometer for my bike?

I have a '82 Maxim 650 and I'm in the market for a new cluster, looking at a couple on eBay but I'm not sure what to look for. My speedometer is cable driven.

I'm asking because the tach and speedo both have the connectors for a cable but the tach is electronic.

It shows some wires from the speedo side but I'm verifying that's just for lighting and etc.

 

Prior to 1982 all the XJ tachs were cable driven. From '82 0n they have electronic tachs. The '81 cluster you linked will not work for you. IF you don't find another you can swap that speedometer into your existing housing (assuming that the existing housing is useable).

Speaking of, what problem are you having that requires an entire gauge cluster?

Cable driven tach. Makes it an '81 or earlier. You can't trust E-Bay sellers to always know what they have.
