A few months ago I traded my 83 Venture straight across for a low mileage XJ1100. It only had 3800 miles! The bike was in great condition... except for the slashed tires and the two dents in the tank.
The bike after I got it road worthy

The bike has sat in a garage for at least 15 years so the tires need to be replace and the tank needed to be repainted. (yes all the normal cleaning and replacing rubber and brake parts took place :) ) So I asked my wife what she wanted, She picked out an emerald green metallic. Not a bad choice...

She also said she wanted a wolf. So I searched for pictures of wolfs, some howling at the moon, staring at you like your the next meal etc. She finally just said just pick one but I want it to look like it was coming out of the mist.

Mist huh, ok I we'll see what I can do. That was about 6:30 about 8:00 I went looking for her. She was in the family room watching an old episode of NCIS. I told her I was done and asked her to come look. She was a little skeptical but said ok and off to the kitchen we went. No I didn't paint it in the kitchen (I had to tell her that too). That just where I put them after they dried to the touch.

Not what she had in mind with the mist but she said she liked it. For some reason she didn't think it was going to be done so fast... and she said she knew me.

Anyway here it is on the bike.

I still need to polish the chrome and paint the side covers to match and put the tank badges back on.

It's almost ready to ride to Colorado for a rally. I 've been riding it to work to get all the kinks out. For some reason she keeps complaining that she never gets to ride her bike.o_O:rolleyes::D
