Will a 2000 Vstar 650 Starter Motor work with a 1982 XJ 650?

    I was wondering which starters are interchangeable with the 1982 XJ 650 Maxim? I found a cheap Vstar starter motor, that why I was wondering. Thanks.

    I have seen xj starter motors for 10 bucks on ebay, though I' doubt the vstar would work....

    Ummmm I seriously doubt it.. It's like having a Model T generator working on a 2009 F 250..
