Just scored a 82 XJ750 Red Gas tank on E-bay for 130.00 including shipping! In great condition! I can't wait to slap that tank on the bike and go for a nice long ride with an extra gallon of gas!

I just tucked the wires up under the tank for now. Looking for either an '82 console for a 750 or an after market gas gauge that will work. Was searching the site for suggestions, but not coming up with much so I might post a new topic...

I'm glad you finally got it! I think I saw pics in another post, nice. Now take it on a long ride to enjoy that extra range.

Maybe we can start calling you "Tank"!

I plan to take a nice long ride on Saturday. Tomorrow (took off to make that 3 day weekend in to a 4) I have work to do. Check valve clearances, check shims, order new shims. Clean the grime off the block from when the valve gasket was leaking. Depending how bad the valves are I may forgo long rides until I can bring them back in to spec. Install battery tender cable and 12V adapter for my phone. Put on phone mount. Look for bluetooth adapters/speakers/helmets. Some time next week put a new inline fuel filter on the bike ordered one today from Amazon, to replace the old one. New spark plugs will be put in today during lunch going to pick some up at Napa.

LOL 'Tank' has a nice ring to it. I also like the bike with the larger tank. It looks like a bigger bike.

Congrats on the score!! Yamaha did the same thing with the turbo...the 82's have a gallon less then the 83's but the 83's will fit on my 82. I saw one the other day on ebay but his pic didn't show the right angle so I could tell which year it was. Maybe I'll write to him cause I sure aren't getting very good mileage<VEG>and could use the extra range!!
