    Excellent bike! Muy bueno!

    Now for questions:

    1. Where did you get those wire rims? They are awesome!

    2. What did you do with the battery?

    Thanks alot!

Very sweet cafe racer man. I love the idea of hiding the battery. Just goes to show what wonderfull things people can do when we expand our thinking.

Can I ask a favor? Would it be possible to get some close up pics of the bike without the seat? I'm assuming you put the rest of the electronics under the seat, as well as the battery? Sorry to be such a bother, but your bike is almost exactly what I'm trying to do to my XJ650!

Also, are those rearsets? Did you make those or buy them somewhere?

    Thanks alot!

Upon closer inspection there are so many subtle things you have done to this bike, from the enginepolishing to the exhaust, to the wheels, forks, bars, frame, electrical, brakes.

Once again, I applaud you and petition you to post more pictures and videos when you have the chance.

Hello to all. There is no problem, the week that comes I do the photos detailed. rear set, what I know they are 3 manufacturers 1. - "raask" made in Sweden. 2. - "motoitalia" made in Italy 3. - "gimbel" made in Germany. The 1 and 2 difficult one to find but the 3 "gimbel" makes at the moment http://cgi.ebay.es/Fussrastenanlage-YAM ... dZViewItem good nicht

Muchas, muchas gracias!! Excellent pictures! I noticed you cut off the support bracket that goes between the to rails and holds up the stock seat. I've been debating doing that on mine and I wondered about the structural integrity without it. Have you noticed any difference in the way the bike handles without it?

    Thanks again!

Hello I have not cut to the tube this to it there. the iron that cuts is the one of the back part but to put another iron plate that holds the battery, since the one of origin the battery was very above. Greetings to all.

I bring this bike up (and the man who built it) I think it's my favorite modified XJ.
He was the first to show us spoked rims.
The bike has a completely cleared-out airbox/battery area which is a striking detail not seen on almost any other bike.
He lists 3 manufacturers of REARSETS for XJ's
He posted a video of his bike with cool music.
And he's not even aware that there's a POD debate.

I'd throw away the black tank protector of course, otherwise *PERFECT*

Well, I set an email reminder last year on this date to remind me to post here today. It's been one year minus a couple hours since my last post, I think I'll do it again next year too.
Don't know if the builder or the bike are still around but this is one of my Top 10 ever builds!
    *EDIT*
Just went back to the first post, it was from June of 2008!!!!!

XJotero1. WOW!! that is a beautiful bike. I know this post is old, but it just came to my attention. Could you tell me what year the Virago wheels are and what year you XJ 650 is? I am going for the same swap. Thank you.

My feelings exactly, bikes this original & inspirational NEED to keep in the "public eye" and if that requires a yearly thread necromancy well Amen...

Really it shouldn't have gone that long without someone posting about it anyway.

If you're still around & online XJotero, Thank You for being a pioneer with your bike & Congratulations on such a beautiful job. I'm envious of the café racer look you've achieved :D 8)

almost time to bring this thread back again :)

having just stumbled on this thread (and the idea that spokes can actually be done well!) i thought i should bring it back to the top.

time to find a virago rolling chassis......

Just think - "XJotero1" built this in Spain, where the various parts were harder to come by. Imagine needing to order almost everything from other countries and ship thru customs !!

    (37,000 views !! that's crazy !)

Well, here we are again. It's a Tuesday this year and about an hour from my previous post. It would be great to see how this bike has been holding up after all this time. Guess I'll have to set another reminder for next year.
