My wife and I are looking for a sissy bar for our 82 xj650. I'm wondering if there are any inexpensive aftermarket options available out there that anyone knows of.

    Thanks!

Great question. I've done some searching but haven't found anything except one or two priced at about half the cost of the entire bike. Any good options/recommendations?

As far as I know there aren't really any aftermarket ones readily available. Your best bet would probably be ebay, a junkyard, or build your own. I searched eBay for several months before scoring one for mine. Good luck!

    I saw a Virago Sissy Bar jury-rigged to fit a 750 Max.
The 750 Max has a removable "Horseshoe-type" end on the Seat Surround.

I have a 650 Seat Rail down in the garage.
    It's solid.

    Jardine makes "Universal" Sissy's.
You need one to replace the Seat Surround or you'll need some cutting and welding done, ... I'm guessing.

I built one of these for my 82 maxim 750.If your willing to cut your grab bar to make it work (mine had a removable one yours is one piece i believe ) It was super cheap to do and works really well the most expensive part was getting it recovered.

    the one I made
