    Hi, all,

I've run a search through the forums and found nothing regarding roughly what sort of an oil temperature I should have once the bike is running; apparently those Yankee v-twins like to run in the low- to mid-200s...

I'm a bit concerned; on my last rides, it's seemed like the heat was POURING off the engine, and the cylinder fins were hot enough to boil water fast. I don't remember my previous Seca (wrecked in an arson last December  ) feeling so hot.

I'll be receiving an oil-plug temp gauge soon, and would love to know what I should be looking for, and what to look at if I am running hot...

Carbs cleaned, synced (all idle screws at 2.75 turns; don't have colortune) and propane vac checked; valves all within spec, idles and runs like a dream, oil changed this spring when I bought the bike about 1200 miles ago, compression all low 140s... I just don't want to do anything wrong to this creampuff...

If you suspect overheating ... CHECK YOUR SPARK PLUGS!

If you are at 2.5 ~ 2.75 Turns Out, ... you may be too lean!
    Lean means Hot.

Hot isn't good for Aluminum Air-cooled's.
