So my wife and I are buying a car from a friend that has to quickly move to Hawaii for work in 1 month. We said we would take their car, at a discount price, of course. Given todays market, I thought I should put my '95 Blazer w/ 212,000 miles on it on craigslist to start generating some interest. The good news is I sold the Blazer yesterday, bad news, we don't get the "new" car until the end of the month...

XJ to the rescue. I've had it out only 2 days riding since I bought the thing, and I was scrambling around at 7:00 last night in the dusk trying to get it going (plugs were fouled). I just have to say, XJ don't fail me now! Its all I've got for the next two weeks rain or shine. Downside is, I'm starting out in the rain. Wonderful Wisconsin weather...

Ack...dude, you're crazy. Not for relying on your XJ, but for doing it in Wisconsin, in April, at the tail end of what has been one of the worst winters in years.

Am I allowed the +1 on that quote or is it too redundant? ;)

Trust me, I'm not exactly pleased. When the wife said its not a big deal I told her I would take her car then and she could take the bike...haven't heard a word about it since. :)

You will be alright I have rode my xj for the last three weeks here in michigan. Last monday and tues. were a bit chilly with low 20's in the morn and snow Sun night made the morning ride a bit slower on monday but we got threw it. Light rain today on the way home but no biggy. Just remember to ease on the throttle in the wet stuff and you will be fine. Oh and if you have a leather jacket or rain gear put in in a saddle bag or wear it on the days that the weather person says might be wet.

That's rough. I live south to avoid that cold.

I kinda feel your pain. The coldest I have been is on the shores of Lake Michigan at Port Washington, WI in March. I was thinking it was March so I had a light jacket on and finally had to call it and go back to the car and heater.

'03 VW Jetta. Giving us a deal we can't pass up.

And Yeah SL, its the streetfighter 'ish bike. The rain yesterday wasn't so bad, just the cold on the neck. To hell with the bike ;)

Still the prospect of having only this for the next couple of weeks regardless of weather etc. is not exactly a great thought, not to mention I have no idea about reliability at this point. Had it been June when this happended...well thats another story.
