    I found a clip I downloaded a few years ago - it's a tv segment ~3 minutes - 15 mb

I could host it here - but I don't really need hammering ;)

If someone wants to host it from a REAL server, I'll give them a link. Otherwise, I'll host it and I'll ask you to take it easy on my poor machine and I'll take it down if I have problems...

It's not really that informative - but it is neat to see the XJ relay bag in the news... it shows the PEI patch that Ronnie Norden put on it - I was on that leg of the ride. :) Anyhow - I digress... that was one of many of the many visible patches. This sounds like it was in Ontario area?

    Woot.

Done . Check out the Downloads section 8O :D. I resized the file to be <2MB so it's more web friendly.

You can download files only if you are logged in as a registered user. This will prevent any bandwidth waste... Let me know how it works for you guys.

    Now that is some compression!

Thanks - hope it is enjoyed by all - if some one can give me a source I'd be thankful - I forgotten over the years how I came to have that - surely somebody sent it to me...

uhm, actually it's not compression that reduced the size. I reduced the video quality which in the end reduced the file size :p.

I tried to download the file and got an error box.
It said; Compressed (zipped) folder is invalid or corrupted.
    Whats the trouble?

I'm not sure what's the problem. Others downloaded just fine. I tried from 2 different PC and it works fine as well. Can you try again?

I got it to work. I was trying to open it, when I should have saved it.
It said something about mirror, on the download page. Whats mirror?

It basically means 'source location'. You can have file downloads available from various sites. I have it setup so the downloads are from here at XJBikes. More secure and safer this way .

    Whooo Wheee! Now that's funny.
At then end, they mention he's on the way to London to drop the bag off to the next rider -- THAT'S ME :-> We swapped the bag to my bike just outside Woodstock on the side of the 401 highway.

    Cool

    You didn't hear about this???

Well - the short version is that a bag was put together - it was a relay - each rider rode it to the next location. When it came to water or an area with no XJ'ers it was mailed to the next rider. It went around the world. It cost ~10 bucks to join - and you got a patch when it was your turn. The funds paid for the mailing... I guess some of that cost was also absorbed.

Anyhow - the patches were dated 2000... I rode with the bag in 2002 IIRC.

    http://www.xjrelay.com/

John Gurp's page also mentions - I rode with Gurp, Norden, Perry, Grenier, Mauger and Black... actually if you look closely you'll find a picture of a younger me.

    Here is Gurp's page: http://jvangurp.com/bike/motorcycle.htm
John now has a new ride, selling his X very recently - discussed on Fork's board.

Actually - if you look here you'll see I rode the wrong bike to the event... my XJ was in the shop for some reason and I was just rehabilitating my 600r... ( long story involving speeds over 60mph and a cat )
