    Hi all,

I'm looking to change the upper fork bridge (triple tree) of my '82 XJ Maxim 750 'cause I'd like to install a more conventionnal handlebar. Since I don't want risers, I would replace the triple tree. I was looking for used parts and I found a '82 Seca 650 Turbo fork for cheap.

Can someone confirm or infirm that I can interchange those triple tree?

    Thanks!

    Thanks!

I doubt they will work for you (at least not without some modification) The headlight is set up differently on the Turbo -- it mounts to a fixed nose piece instead of the triple tree.

If you don't mind replacing the headlight, you might be able to adapt a 650 Maxim (or a non-Turbo Seca) front end... You'll need to get creative with the brake line splitter, since the 650 uses a different brake setup.

Ok, good to know but what I was planning was keeping my stock fork and simply replace the triple tree. What do you think about that? I'm not concerned about the head light since I'm bobbing...

    Thanks!

ahh, if you don't care about the headlight setup, you should be able to get away with it.
This would be a great time to install a set of tapered roller bearings...
