    What I have done:
    1. New handle bar
    2. Pulled solenoid opened and cleaned corrosion out (works fine now)
    3. Pulled Carburetor and cleaned / unstuck floats
    4. Pulled Carburetor boots and coated with black silicon to fill cracks
    5. Carb sync with home made tools (instructions from this forum)
    6. Sea foam ran threw crank case
    7. Oil change w/ new filter
    8. New Spark plugs
    9. New battery
    10. Tested all electrical components with multimeter
    11. Replaced regulator/rectifier
    12. New Buss fuse block

That’s where I am now and the bike seems to be running well again...

What would you do next as preventative maintenance?

The list is endless. Couple off the top of my head.

    Lube cables.
Brake fluid. Change if dirty or discoluoured.
Brake pad check font and rear.
    Wheel bearing check/regrease
    Head bearing check/regrease
    Air filter
Chain lube and tension. (These shafty boys forget this one)

And fit a few rides in too.

You could also get into the handle bar clusters and clean and preserve the start, turn and headlight switches. Good list HG. I don't see anything else I could think of save fork seals.

Here is another preventative maintenance tip. When you store your bike for the winter or for a few weeks spray a nice layer of WD-40 or other water displacer on all the chrome parts of the bike as to prevent rust from forming. Works great on front fork chrome and it wipes off with ease when you want to take the bike out again.
