xj special550 '86ish

hey xj fans and tuners, figured i'd share what i'm up to at the moment. .

i dont have shots on hand of what it started as but mostly stock. headers came with..

mostly ol' cbr stuff. F2 frontend, rearwheel.

i originally stuffed that rear wheel into the stock swingarm and found soooo much flex i couldnt track right through the corners.. rather than brace the original i ditched it and mounded a crfswinger i had from my old blownup supermoto.crf450r. that wheel i made fit that swinger so it was made to go in.. rear shock cbr1000rr,knuckle,links from an afternoon dig at the wrecker. i remember making a bunch of spacer/bushing assembly to make it work. twas a bit ago plz dont ask for figures and bushings made.ha.

its been sitting for bit.. just rebuilt the carbs.just synced it.new oil. focused on tuning.. its been running rich since i threw those cheap pods on.. next after riding it.... mount a can with a bit more backpressure and play with airbox desigins?

 

Hi looks fun. I'm intrigued by mono-shock conversions, can we have a pic of the shock linkage and top mount ?
