So here's the deal. I love my XJ650. But, I have the opportunity a couple states over to purchase a shot XJ11 of the same year (82 of course) for cheap. I wanna put the XJ11 engine in my 650. Is an engine swap feasible in regards to physical frame geometry or are the two frames drastically different?

I just don't wanna dial up the calvary and waste a trip if it's not physically "possible". I'd go to the trouble of moving some motor mounts but no major frame fabrication. Otherwise I'll just fix up the 11!!!

    Hey, thanks for reading!!

It would be every hot rodder's dream if at all possible.
Think of the XJ series as a scaled down XS-11 by 15 % or so.
You would need to lengthen the frame and get it right.
Then the gear ratio is too low,; you top out at 90 MPH.

You could shorten an XJ1100 and lower it, then bob it, to make it smaller.
How much money you got ??

Well, haha certainly not a bottomless pit; we'll just say I'm a budget hot-rodder with pop's garage full of fabricating tools.

For now I think I'll just purchase the fixer-upper! Bring another XJ back from the dead I guess haha.

I'll say this though, if/when I decide to do this project I'll take a crapload of pictures to document the whole ordeal.

    Thank you for your expertise!

The 11 engine will not fit without some major frame mods. The xj11 is just an xs11 with some styling changes. It would be cheaper and much easier to just drop in a 900 engine.
