Does any one have a chart that tells what CDI boxes will interchange with the 14-10 on my XJ1100?
    Thanks Greg

Your best bet is to get another 10M part. It's possible to use the 78-80 model XS1100 TCI boxes, but you will have to replace the entire pickup mechanism as well.

I can also take a look at your existing box. There are some models that can be opened and repaired. PM if interested.

The CDI I have is working fine . But down the line in order to keep my XJ's running I thought I would pick up a extra CDI for both the XJ1100 And my XJ750 . On E bay under XS1100 I see a lot CDI boxes The engines are the same except the YICS. and then some of the later XS1100's had YICS engines. On the bike I'm building I have installed the same size rims and final drive off a 1980 XS1100 midnight (nice gold finish) And thanks to XJ4ever All new SS brake lines, rebuilt calipers, master Cyl. new pads. I'm painting the fenders and tank Forrest Green pearl metalic. I'll post photos as soon as I finish
Thanks for getting back to me on this post.

Not too sure on any of the XS1100 models having YICS... The motors will interchange though. If you see an XS1100 with YICS, its mill (or just the head and valve body) is borrowed from an XJ.

The XJ has a vacuum sensor under the tank for timing advance. XS models have the advance built in to the pickup mechanism -- either centrifugal or vacuum type. So the TCI will not interchange without some major electronic voodoo.

The 750 ignitor is a bit more "interchangeable"... I know as a fact that the 750 will start and run with a unit from the 550. I've seen mine do it
The only thing is that the timing curves are not the same, so you may not get the same power out of the bike.
