A while back, I posted that I was going to just run rear candescent bulb blinkers. Removed the front blinkers. I have aftermarket indicators from DimeCity Cycles (bulbs are 12V, 23W). They stay solid when engaged with stock flasher relay. I was advised by many to go to an electronic flasher and remove the flasher canceling unit. Did that, and have tried various electronic flasher units, current one being a Novita EP 34. Nothing. What am I missing?

The front blinker wiring was removed from the hardness in the headlight bucket. Does this interrupt the circuit?

That should work, but you can't just plug it in as the "E" terminal is going to the self cancelling unit and just floating. That "E" terminal needs to be connected to ground.

I notice that plugging the cancelation unit back in does not make any difference. So whats the best method of grounding? Slip a wire in the E and connect to frame?

Yes it won't make it work in this case. That "E" terminal on the original relay was the "C" terminal and was either 12V (disable original), or 0V (enable original). You will need to leave the self cancelling unit unplugged with the Novita Relay.

As for grounding there would be several options, you could do as you described. You could extract the existing wire and tie it back and insert another terminal / wire with that tied to the frame. Or, Len (XJ4ever) sells an adapter harness to make it even easier. Or, there are a number of two pin flashers that are plug and play.

There are quite a few to choose from, but most are rated at 21W x 2 +3.4W, which is too low if you are running the stock setup with two 27W bulbs. They would be fine is you are going to stick with the one rear indicator.

Here is one that should work, may not be the cheapest but if you search " 2 Pin Motorcycle Turn Signal Indicator Flasher Relay" on either Ebay or Amazon you will get many options.

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/2-Pin-Moto...485481&hash=item41afea7c81:g:LN8AAOSwUn9Z-nYJ

Also XJ4ever carries tried and tested guaranteed to work replacements.

So what else do you currently have - brand model number? Perhaps you have others that should work and there is no need to purchase another.
