    Hey guys,

I been working on my XJ550, I currently have the carbs off to rejet them and I got to dinking around with relocating the fuse box and some other stuff. When I went to test that everything works after relocating it, the headlight doesn't turn on when I turn the ignition on. I can't remember if it turns on when the ignition is on, or if the bike has to be started. Anyone care to enlighten me?

Hmmmm here's a question, Is this done with a realy?
In my 400, headlight comes on as you turn the key.
I'd like to reserve the extra current for starting.
Methinks I need a peek at the 550 wiring diagram :)

A special relay with a "latch" I think a diode or something.
If you have a really good battery, it can come on with just cranking.
Once energised the "latch" keeps it "ON" even if you stall.

I'd like to get one of those for my other bike to keep the headlight off until it's running. I know the starter switch on my Honda disconnects the headlight when you press the starter switch, but it would be nice to not have it come on until the engine fires. That way I can turn the switch on while working on it without so much strain on the battery. Looks like a pretty easy mod to do.

It's done with the headlight relay.

PM me with an email address and you've got one.

How much $$ for one? Is it something I can find at Radio Shack or an auto parts store maybe? I might be interested.
