Does anyone have any pictures of XJ550 bikes that were raced in the early eighties? especially if they have sponsors decals and non standard paint schemes

Bummer you're getting just dead air on this question, I'd like to see some vintage pics too.
Fitz! Can you find any racing pics of 550 Secas?

Someone must have raced them, just looking for some ideas for when mine hits the track

Maybe I will just do one of the stock paint schemes

The Kenny Roberts colour scheme has been done to death, I'm looking for something else

There's already an XJ550 in those colours racing here anyway

Never did any race schemes but did race a seca 550 out at Willow Springs from the early 90's up until 1997 when I retired from it.. Last year they had the unlimited CC displacement on motorcycles and the little seca 550 kicked all of there tails for the year.

<--- Yup that was me on the seca 550

Thought about the white colour scheme as we only got the black and silver here

    Are they Marzocchi rear shocks?

Yes they are Marzocchi rear shocks. I had them on the 650 Seca production bike as well, "top photo"

Many national and regional wins with the shafty. My mechanic was able to change the gearing on this bike to. Back then Yamaha Corp. payed money for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishes on both Secas.

The XS1100 over this side of the world won the Castrol 6 hour production race one year and had quite a few top 5 finishes

There are also guys here currently racing XJ650 and XS750/850 in our pre82 class

Thrasher do you have any better pictures of the decals on your bike, mabye I will build a "Thrasher" replica
