Ive began to notice that my transmission seems to be getting more "clunky"

I dont run this bike especially hard, rarely reach 8 grand... yet first second and third often give a good "clunk" when I go UP into them- going down I only get this from 2nd and 1st.

I was told the bike had an oil change before I bought it (so that would be about 3 weeks or a month ago) but i dont know what oil was put in it.

    What would you guys recommend? I know the manual says 10w-30 < 60F and 10w-40 > 40

I would assume 10w-40 would be the best choice- is yamalube the best stuff? I know i need something without friction reducers for the wet clutch.

Lastly- i noticed that when going into first i dont ALWAY get a big clunk- sometimes it just clicks in nice and soft (like id think it should).

and just for reference: clunk = loud clunk from transmission + slight lurching forward of the bike (but not continuous), this is mainly going into 1st from a stand still as I probably wouldnt notice the lurch ( i dont notice) whilst moving.

    THANKS!
