Allow me to begin with a sincere thank-you to all of the experts who’ve made time to answer questions, post tutorials, moderate and make this forum an amazing resource. Your support and expertise has greatly enhanced my experience as an XJ owner and I’m grateful.
I’m also a bit fearful about the position of my rear wheel. Something didn’t look right when I got off the bike last night. I was surprised to see the rear when nearly all the way toward the drive side, the tire nearly rubbing. (Please see attached pics.) This seems like an obvious safety concern, so I’m asking for guidance. What is/are the likely cause/s? How do I repair/adjust? Can you help me get back on the road by the weekend?
    Thank you!

There is supposed to be a spacer on the left side, maybe it's missing. It goes on the inside of the hub, where the splines are.

There won't be much clearance to the shaft tunnel. The stock tire with is 130, if there is a 140 tire on there the clearance will be very tight to interfering.

Look at your castle nut. If the cotter pin is in the slots and not proud of the entire nut the wheel is in the correct place.

Thank you both. It seems as if something is missing, although I believe the spacer is present. Pics show everything save for the cotter pins. Does it all look OK?
