I gots one but it is buried somewhere in storage, I'll have to pass for now. May I ask why are you replacing yours? Mine leaked a little bit of oil when I got it. I've rebuilt mine twice with Yamaha seals and o-rings and it still leaks. Replaced the housing that bolts into the head and still have a leak. Part of it's charm I guess.

I'm a dolt, I misread your post and was posting a response to a Tach oil leak, DOH!
You can trouble shoot the assembly by removing the cable and sliding a small regular screw driver into the drive socket of the speedo. Be careful not to push too hard nor force a blade that is too wide in there. Now give the screwdriver a spin. Nothing? Spin it the other direction. You should see the needle move. If this is the case, you need to clean and lubricate the cable and the cable drive located on the front axle (gotta pull the tire for this one, have fun). It is possible the cable drive is stripped or seized up with dryed grease.
If you don't get the needle to move, your speedo assembly will need repair and since I haven't had to do this, I couldn't offer any advice beyond replacing it with another unit. Hope this helps.
