xj700 air cooled starting electrical problem

    hi everyone i have a problem with cranking my bike and the grinding sound that happens somtimes only right when you let off the button like it doesnt disengage fast enough? well i went to start the xj700n today and it just made a clicking noise and the clicking was coming out of this round solinoid thing in back of the battery where the positive wire comming off the battery goes into.then a black wire that connects to the same thing came broke off and it touched the frame and it started cranking over with the ignition off and it didnt do a grinding sound at all and it was cranking over for a good 5 seconds i know this has nothing to do with synthetic oil seeing as the grinding went away as it happened so my problems are electrical any suggestions?

    sounds like u blew the main relay next to the battery

    no it was the connection connecting to the starter motor i just needed to tighten wiggle it
