xj700 fork seal

    the dust sweepers on the XJ700 have a chrome cover. I am going to replace the seals and dust sweeps and I wonder what I should use to attach the metal cover to the dust sweep. The ones I have now have came loose and ride up on the strut and I want to avoid that with the new seals.

    Thanks. I was thinking of contact cement but was hesitant since it bonds almost immediately and doesn’t allow adjustment. I like the rtv.

    I used some clear silicone caulking for mine as I had some around. Still holding
