    Hey guys, new here,

does anyone know if the maxim x rear wheel from a xj700 will directly swap onto a xj650 maxim regarding spline size and brakes etc. I like the solid wheel design. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!

Spline will mount right up. XJ650 Maxim apparently takes a different brake shoe than the Seca's and 700/750's.
Best thing is to buy the brake backing plate to. Find the wheel from the 750-X, I can set you up with a backing plate if you can't find one but they are common.

Thanks for the great info! happy about the spline comparability. Regarding brakes if I got the backing plate (I believe it’s what is pictured in this photo?) would I stick with the xj650 brakes? Or would I have to get a new rear drum brake assembly that’s from a xj750 maxim x? Cheers

The brake is cast with the wheel, which is why you also need the backing plate. You will use the brake shoes and hardware from the model of XJ that the wheel came from.

Where in Canada ? It’s a big place.
I have a couple of the Xj700n wheels and brake backing plates if you can’t find the “X” model wheel
