    Hi,

I have a 1982 xj650r non-turbo that currently has pods. I'm looking to put a stock airbox back on - a local guy has a xj750 airbox. I've done a bit of search and found out it's not exactly the same - is this true? Is it close enough that it could work/could be modified slightly to work?

same air filter is used , but it is all if it fits into the frame. there are different trims on both boxes .
and carb spacing is the same

also in the information overload thay talk of putting 750 motors in 650 frames but do not mention airboxes so I thing your bike will run properly
will just be about the mounting holes and battery box

There are some differences betwen the two, but they are the same physical size, and have the same mounting tabs. The intake snorkel is also different.
I'm not sure if all of the things that mount to the top of the box will fit without making some modifications.

So I ended up buying an airbox on ebay. While I wait - is there anything else I need to know to go from carb back to stock airbox? Jets are slightly larger, I have a 4-1 exhaust on atm.. Can I expect a pretty easy conversion?
