XJ750 Starter Clutch condition?

    First, Thanks everyone for the great Forum and great source of info.

    I have a '82XJ 750 . I have removed my Starter Clutch to fix a starting problem.

    Below are some pictures, there is a crack in the Starter Clutch Assembly. it is clean enough that I am questioning if it is intentional. Can anyone let me know if this is normal. Thank-you.

    That is not normal. You have a cracked part. Start a conversation with Chacal for a replacement.

    That is one symptom of starter slippage the springs and roller loose tension and slip. Your is the extreme end :(.
