    Dear folks,
After purchasing my beloved 900 i replaced the - original- suspension front and back.
For the rear a set of YSS shocks were recommended but.. they were fat too weak and soft... So far for the suspension 'specialist'.

After that i got a set of Koni's type 9005/7610. The springs on them were -again- too soft and a Koni dealer got me 2-steps stiffer springs (515- 29/14).

But as you might expect (stupid me) the dampening of the shocks cannot cope with the much-stiffer springs..

So, after being sent to 2 'specialists' and spending quite some money it is still not very good..

Does anyone have a plug & play tip for my bike?

Are those Konis rebuildable? Maybe you could replace the oil with something heavier?

The have been recently overhauled/rebuilt. But i thing the dampening is not enough for the 2-step heaviuer springs.
so now i am searching for a set that functions normally.

2 suspension 'experts'.. now .. what is mentioned above..

I fitted Koni shocks to my XJ900 35 years ago they were great 35 years ago. The problem with them is they only have rebound damping so therefore needs a strong spring to stop them bottoming out . Here in New Zealand I found a suspension Guru who has been an Ohlins agent for 30+ years . He was able to revalve some HD shocks for me that have both compression and rebound damping . This means I can use a much lighter spring and have a very compliant suspension . The difference is outstanding

Aren't these Konis that are around also decades old? I don't know if they're still any good if they haven't been overhauled.
I replaced the original dampers with a pair of new ones from YSS. Type: RE302-310T-18-X
    So far, I'm very happy.

I had a set of YSS before these - overhauled- Konis but the were far too weak, Despite Louis advises them on their site..

What do you mean by they were to weak? They might look a little bit skinny compared to the massive stock dampers since they are made of aluminum but I can't find anything wrong with them honestly. Except maybe one thing because they are 1cm longer than stock so the wheels cannot be moved while on the center stand.

Did yours came with the correct bushings? I got a pair delivered where the bushings were both for the right side. Fortunately I found them on Amazon, so I didn't have to return them.

The springs were MUCH too weak.. screwed then down halfway and could not do traffic bumps without both ens banging together.. With passenger impossible.

It's not impossible that they were defective. But since you report the Konis also to be inappropriate, maybe not.
Why did you replace the original suspension in the first place?
