Just had to share my excitement. I finally rebuilt the petcock on the 750max tank. Sure, it is a pretty simple, straight forward, job. Wait till you see what I started with though....

I intended to get some more pics. However, the impending thunder storm moving over my back deck did not allow me such luxuries. Anyhow, I only had to re-use the diaphragm nipple o-ring, everything else was replaced!

Oh yea, I decided to leave the selector lever painted. Since it is the same color as the tank, I figure it might be a nice little touch.

    Did you read my how-to?

    I'm surprised you didn't replace the standpipe/filter.

    Looks good though.

the tank has been sitting on my back deck for some time now. In the before pics, the white crystallized substance, all over the petcock, is the sodium carbonate from the solution. It was leaking somewhere so I decided to just rebuild it.

Only took a little over 2 hours. I can say that the inside is nearly as clean as the outside!

When it comes to the Vacuum Operated Petcock's we have on our Bikes, ...

I agree with Polock when he writes: If it aint broke; don't fix it."

MY adage regarding these Fuel Valves; when they DO break-down is this:

"IF it IS Broke; DON'T fix it."

    Because:
The Original lasted over 20 years.
A Brand New one costs: 60-Bucks
Less than "2-Bits" a Month for Brand Spanking New

    Badda-bing.
    Badda-boom.

I could not find a new one on Ebay for under $100! BUT I did find a dealer in Alberta who has new ones for $67.95 reg $112. Out of stock at present but I am trying to find out when/if he'll have more in.
