Hello. I guess this is the section for new member introductions. I decided to join this forum today because over the last several months I have been visiting repeatedly and with increasing frequency. Every google search for XJ750 blank seems to lead me back here. I find myself sucked in, reading threads that have nothing to do with my original search. I feel like I know some of you already just from reading so many of your posts. Another reason I chose this forum over some of the other XJ, XS, Yamaha sites is because there seems to be a lot of active members in and around my area. I look foward to attending some gatherings this year if time permits.
I own an '82 XJ750RH that I bought wrecked in 1998 while working as a tech at a Yamaha dealer. It's been sitting since 2008 when I stopped riding it in favor of another bike.(due to minor mechanical issues) A few months ago I pushed it from the barn to the garage to begin it's second complete overhaul. I have a plan in mind but I will start a project thread and go into it in detail there. I need to start taking some pictures. I'm almost half way done with this project and haven't taken any yet.

So thank you for all the the help that you didn't know you gave me. I'm not a regular online forum guy but I will try to post from time to time. I'd much rather be riding or turning wrenches than sitting here writing about it.

Since we are in the Hangout Lounge and we are already off topic . . . .

I think it was two years ago at the Wisconsin State Fair, like all state fairs they have awards for apple pies, produce, cheese, macramé, all kinds of stuff . . . . one of the Blue Ribbon awards for the category of meat (?) was a log of Canadian Bacon wrapped in bacon - wish I would have taken a picture, it was friggin' gorgeous.

 

Been scratching my head for a while. I don't get the bacon thing. Maybe I don't spend enough time on line. Maybe It's an inside joke on here. Please explain, maybe I'll feel dumb for not getting it.

BTW I did raise some pigs the year before last. They were beautiful but pork prices were so low it wasn't worth it. I burned way to much fuel running around to all the grocery stores in my area begging for their spoiled produce.

 

bacon alone, bacon in your mashed patatos, bacon on a burger, bacon in your mac and cheese, bacon ice cream ....................candied bacon sprinkled with pepercorns , with beer
when things are going wrong and you cannot figure it out go cook some bacon enjoy the aromatic smell , eat the bacon savor its flavor, then all things come to light.

Yep, it's an inside thing here.

We are mulling over the idea of getting a pig here, cause I like bacon. And it offers up a living composite machine. Have to remember not to give it a name . . . .

 

pigs name would be delicious so when you eat it and say Mmmmm delicious.

 

Now I'm naming my Johnson that, and telling my wife shes getting something Delicious this valentine's! Mmmmm delicious!
