Well, thanks to all of you I was able to ride my XJ550 Seca all summer and fall, with only minimal and very occasional challenges. It's snowing here in Seattle tonight and it feels like time to work on the bike again.

    So on deck this winter:

Front forks leaking oil (looks like a couple small scratches on the forks)
    Valve cover leaking oil
New front tire went flat (maybe bead wasn't set properly) Kinda worried about it. Holding air now...
Higher quality brake and clutch levers (Cheap ebay ones just suuuck)
Bondo and paint tank (need screws for Yamaha emblems)
Fix up side panels and paint
Basic tuning (Check valves and clean carbs)

Look forward to exploring the forum as I start this work! Happy holidays all!

Thought maybe you would be playing with you TR-808.

Somewhere buried in 'my stuff' is a TR-707

Sounds like you have a list!! a couple of upgrades would be to add a spin on oil filter, and braided steel brake hoses (unless you did it already) all available from xj4ever
(if your hoses are original this is a must SAFTEY) good luck.

I had a 707 but loaned it to a friend years ago. Came back somewhat nonfunctioning :( Really liked that box.

Yeah, 707s are awesome. You should probably bust that out and start a Soundcloud artist page ;) I have a Roland TR-8. Apparently there's a pretty sweet 707 expansion available for it.

Virtual analog modeling that even the most pure of heart have a hard time differentiating from the originals! Roland also just came out with a the TR-09 (modeled on the 909) which looks pretty fun!

Stainless steel lines is a good one to add to the list!! Need to look into the spin on oil filter. Sounds cool!

And here I still use my DW8000, K1M, and ESQ1.

I also have the complete M1 and all sound cards on my iPadPro, and a couple other synths on it. I JUST picked up a Korg MIDI interface last weekend for my iPadPro, too.

The spin on oil flter kit xj4ever sells is really nice and makes changing filter much easier. And the braided hoses fit perfect and come with directions ...Yamaha recommends replacing rubber hoses at 5 years ...and that was when new..30 years later most have not.I was one of them:rolleyes:but did it a few weeks ago very nice upgrade

Isn't there also an oil cooler kit to go with the spin on filter kit? Seattle isn't the hottest, but extra doohickeys are always nice.

I see the makings of a band - an 80's throw back band with vintage instrumentation. We need a name, a van and plenty of patch chords!

My Hammond M3 is as vintage as I get. Besides that I have a QS8.2, got a few years on her but still gets the job done. Managed to score a Vintage Keys card recently for it too.

You think breaking a rack of carbs is tedious, try fixing a Hammond tone generator

Never messed with soundcloud, my Cubase install came with a demo but never got into. These days we all have kids so all colaboration is through drop box.

When doing your forks progressive springs are a nice upgrade.

Stock springs are a progressive winding. Progressive brand springs are a nice upgrade if your stock springs are not suited to your weight.

    I'm on SoundCloud. https://soundcloud.com/pdrapeau
I need to find some good recordings of the Swing band I was in and put some tracks on there, we covered the classic 40's stuff rather well.

I was in a punk band (no surprises there) that did drugs very well. And skanky groupies. Music was kinda secondary. I was the loudmouth (No surprises there either!). I also held a bass every now and then. It was a far better musician than me.
